At Medic Oncall we have the systems and procedures in place to protect your personal and sensitive information from misuse and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

In dealing with personal and sensitive information, Medic Oncall abides by the ten National Privacy Principles as set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the ten Health Privacy Principles as set out in the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic) (Privacy Principles), together with the provisions of the equivalent State and Territory legislation. Your personal and sensitive information will always be collected and stored by fair and lawful means. Our obligations extend to any contractors we may use in the provision of our services. All officers, employees and contractors of Medic Oncall are required to work according to the Privacy Principles and to treat personal information they may see with care and confidentiality. 2. Why does Medic Oncall collect information?
The information collected and stored by Medic Oncall is for a purpose that is lawful and directly related to the activity of Medic Oncall – that is, to provide a medical recruitment service. Information is obtained for the following purposes and all purposes associated with them:
a) to assist you in seeking suitable short term and long term employment placements;
b) to keep you updated with available employment and other career opportunities.
3. Security of the information
Our use of the Bond Adapt software program will ensure that electronic information, including your personal details, are stored securely and access is only granted to authorised personnel. Similarly, we have systems in place to ensure the protection of hard copy information in accordance with the Privacy Principles. Therefore, your information is protected against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure or any other misuse.
4. Making sure your information is accurate
We will ensure that record keeping is accurate and up-to-date to enable your details to be forwarded to Clients for potential locum placements. You must inform us of changes to your information and we will endeavour to update our records as soon as practicable. We may also contact you or take other reasonable steps to ensure that your information is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
5. Accessing the information
We will assist you in circumstances where you request access to the information that we hold about you. There may be reasonable administration costs involved in providing you with such access, which we will inform you of as soon as practicable.
6. How will Medic Oncall use and disclose personal information?
Medic Oncall will use your information in a way that is consistent with, or directly related to, the purpose for which it is collected, being the provision of a medical recruitment service. As a result, Medic Oncall may disclose information regarding your employment experience to potential employers (i.e. hospitals, clinics and other health service providers). There may be circumstances where we are obligated by the law to disclose your information, including circumstances where presentation of personal records is subpoenaed by a court.
7. Use of photographic images
As part of your role as one of Medic Oncall’s locums, your image may be used for the sole purpose of promoting Medic Oncall through online mediums such as the Medic Oncall website, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. You grant permission to Medic Oncall to use your image for this purpose only and accept that no fee or remuneration will be provided for your appearance in any Medic Oncall related promotions.
